Manchester and District Orienteering Club (MDOC) was founded in 1965 and is one of the largest clubs in the North West Orienteering Association (NWOA) which is a Constituency Assocation of the British Orienteering Federation (BOF).
Our members come from all parts of Greater Manchester and the surrounding area but our largest concentration of members is in South Manchester and Macclesfield. We welcome both senior and junior members. We have a strong programme for training juniors in the sport and several of our juniors are active members of the national North West squad.
We have a regular program of events throughout the year, which are listed on our Fixtures page. The Saturday Challenge events, which are held during the Autumn and Spring, are particularly suitable for school groups and people new to orienteering.
In addition, there are many permanent orienteering courses in the Greater Manchester area. Details of these can be found on the GMOA website.
The club also has Social Events and publishes a regular Newsletter and Broadsheet.
You can read our Constitution here.
If you are interested in joining the club, you can find details on the Joining MDOC page or contact the Membership Secretary.
For anyone new to orienteering, reading our Beginners Guide is an excellent way to get started.
MDOC is committed to be "safe, effective and child-friendly" and has adopted an appropriate set of policies and codes of conduct:
