Event Report

Many thanks to all those of you who made it along to Bramhall Park today.

We hope you all enjoyed the sunshine, the setting and the sport, whichever course(s) you did.

Some of you really did big-it-up by including the Park Run too (much kudos to be had on Strava I suspect!)

A full match report along with the "thankyous" and all the course results will follow sometime tomorrow, but in the meantime, here are the links to the provisional Spunch course results.

Sometimes the results take a little while to load, but when you get there they are very comprehensive including Spunchpoints visited, distances covered, GPS tracks etc!  If your result is not shown, it may be that you need to do a manual "Upload Database" from your MapRun app.

If any of you took any pics today that you are happy to be shared anonymously on social media etc, please WhatsApp them to me on 07751932749 or email on .  Best pic received by midnight Monday will receive a free entry to a future Spunch.

More to follow tomorrow....

Trad O Planner’s comments – Paul Watson

It was fantastic to see you all at our first Manchester Mini O Fest and thank you for coming. A sunny day, smiling faces and people having fun all make the work worthwhile so I am delighted that we had such a great turnout and everyone enjoyed themselves. Highlights for me were seeing some of the friendly family rivalries, as well as seeing some find that  slow and steady can sometimes achieve a better result than a quicker approach.

Whilst it was dry above ground, as many of you found out it was rather muddy and wet underfoot. I did my best to keep you out of the worst and wettest parts of the park (I  nearly got swallowed up by some of the marshes when visiting to plan the courses) and was quite impressed by how clean some of you came back, particularly given the condition of the paths during the day.

For those brand new to orienteering, thank  you for spending your day with us. We would be delighted to see you again at our future events.

For those spunchers trying out trad o for the first time I hope you enjoyed the experience and will come to some of our trad o events too.

Finally, for those more experienced orienteers, we appreciate you coming along and adding to the atmosphere of the day.

Special thanks from me to Andy T, Tony our organiser, Eddie Speak for handling the complex computing requirements, those who helped me putting out and collecting in the control markers, as well as all those club members who helped at the event.

Hope to see you all again soon.

Paul W
