IOF Control Description Symbols

At Regional Events and above, the courses have pictorial control descriptions rather than written control descriptions. You may often find them used at District Events too.

So if you're new to orienteering, or just need to refresh your knowledge, visit www.orienteering.org/footo/pictsymb.htm for an explanation of all the IOF Control Description Symbols.

If you wish to test your knowledge, then have a go at this online interactive quiz for learning or reviewing the IOF symbols.
