Event Report
Many thanks to everyone that attended the third countryside score event for 2016. Luckily
the rain held off and we were able to enjoy a nice evening (despite the disappointing
football result). I really enjoyed planning this event upon my return home from university –
it has given me a great project to do alongside other jobs!
Overall, there did not appear to be many complaints or problems. A tip to avoid errors in
the next event is to ensure that you look at the site marked with the dot in the centre of the
control circle – this for example would have stopped people counting steps on the wrong
side of the bridge over the canal at number 5 (although I was lenient when marking this, this
time!).
Most controls were visited, including number two at the top of Cobden Edge!! Hope those
that made it up there enjoyed the view.
It was good to see some newcomers at the event – do come along to the next event on the
20th July at The Soldier Dick in Furness Vale, my Dad has been busy planning a great event
for you!
The Crown proved to be a good and welcoming venue – hopefully we can use it as a base
again in the future.
Once again, thank-you all for coming, I hope you all enjoyed it!!
