Additional information from the organiser

The Moss Vale is a large friendly pub next to J9 on the M60. It has a large car park. The landlord will set aside an area for us to register, eat, drink and applaud the League and Cup champions of the NSL 2015-16 season.

Reiss, the chef, is rightly proud of his own recipe selection of burgers. He has prepared a special menu for us. It would make it easier for him if he knew in advance how many beef-burgers, chicken burgers, fish and chips, or vegetarian meals he is likely to be asked to prepare. Please have a look at the menu and indicate your preference when ordering your map.

Jillyan and I have prepared a 1:10,000 Cup Special landscape map for the event. We wanted to maximise legibility and take advantage of the more complex parts of Urmston adjoining the pub. All the controls will be worth 10 points. Everyone will be given 60 minutes. The time penalties are quite severe and equate to two controls per minute. The idea is to provide everyone with an incentive to get back in time for the presentation ceremony.

Thanks to the marvels of modern statistical analysis every runner will be given a handicap based on their previous runs during the season. It is this that will be applied in a time honoured fashion to determine the Cup Winner (after your run of course!). The winner of the event on the night will be presented with the Hydrant Trophy.

Other prizes (about 10 of them!) - based on positions in various categories in the final league tables will also be presented on the night.
