Organiser's Comments

The good weather gave us a good number of people today with fair number of newcomers who we hope will come to the next events. Werneth Low is a place that has not been used for an event for a few years. Despite having a few steep slopes the courses were still very runnable and kept people thinking about exactly where they were and forced people to keep contact with the map.

John Britton was again offering coaching for all skill levels with some interesting exercises based on depressions and contours, aswell as the apparently simple line walk, which if you actually do one is not simple at all and forces you to read features very carefully, with the result you learn a lot.

Thanks to all the helpers and particularly to the ranger and his team who opened specially for us.

Next events:
February 23rd - SELOC Introductory Event, Haigh Hall, Wigan
March 15th - MDOC Saturday Challenge, Reddish Vale, Stockport
