Manchester and District Orienteering Club Spring Series Event 3 - Prestwich Forest ParkSaturday 16 March 2013 |
Prestwich Forest Park is at its best in the Spring when the undergrowth is relatively thin and the bracken has not yet grown. The sloping hillside has many detailed features such as knolls and gullies (and one or two people should learn the difference between these!). Overnight rain had however made the marshes deeper than usual and the slopes more slippery, so it was slow going in places.
Thanks to everyone who helped put out and collect in controls, to Eddie Speak for putting the courses onto OCAD and to Steve Lang for printing the maps.
The overall winner of the series of three Saturday morning events is clearly Rik Griffin, and Liam Corner had excellent results in the two events he came to.
