Saturday Event (Level B) - Macclesfield Forest

Travel

Approach from the west via Macclesfield and Langley is recommended. Approaching from the east and the south involves travelling along extremely narrow single track lanes and may conflict with competitors walking to the start or from the finish.

From A523 about 1km south of the centre of Macclesfield, follow signs through Sutton and Langley about 4km to parking field. No public transport available.

Campervans and larger vehicles will park on hard-standing 1km from Assembly. Parking fee.
Assembly In the same field as parking. Toilets, O-traders, catering, registration etc.
Dogs In Assembly only, on leads
Start Starts from 12:00 to 14:00
1km walk on minor roads and tracks. Allow 20 minutes
Finish 1.4km from Assembly. 500m from Start. Clothing can be left near the Start. No water provided
Courses White to Black (see below). String course
Terrain Very variable forest, considerable climb, many forest tracks, all types of vegetation. Non-technical courses will be considerately planned.

Sunday Event (Level B) - Stockport East

Travel Eastbound leave M60 at junction 27. Westbound leave M60 at junction 26. Exit the large roundabout on B6104. 700m to parking.

Assembly Across the road from car park in Vernon Park. Toilets, Registration, caterers.
Dogs In Assembly, on leads
Start Starts from 10:30 to 12:30. All courses will start from Vernon Park, 200m gentle uphill on paths from assembly. Allow 5 minutes
Finish At Assembly
Courses Full length urban courses for senior competitors and two courses planned within Vernon and Woodbank Park for juniors.
Terrain Interesting urban terrain with considerable route choice and quite a few contours, for seniors.
Woodbank and Vernon Parks offer a mixture of woodland and parkland with a network of paths for juniors.
Map 1:5000 Previous Stockport map has been extended to the east by SutMap, to include Vernon Park and the urban area to the south of it. ISSOM
Junior Courses will use updated conventional map of the Parks. Scale 1:5000

Information for the Twin Peak 2 Day event

Pre-entry from August 23rd to October 20th at the rates given above, at fabian4.co.uk

Late entry from October 21st to October 24th with £2(senior) and 50p (junior) surcharge per day

Entry on Day at late entry rates while maps are available.

Postal entry to Trevor Roberts 7 Brisbane Close, Bramhall, Stockport SK7 1LF, by October 14th , with envelopes if required.

Twin Peak Competition: Times for the 2 events will be added together. Prizes for Age Class winners (Senior L, Junior A only)

To be eligible for prizes you must run the course for the same age class each day.
