Rural score event using public rights of way on an enlarged OS map extract.
60 or 90 minute score event. Starting and Finishing near the pub.

Pre-entry recommended using http://mdocentry.org.uk to guarantee a map. Very limited entry on the day.

This event will be the usual 60 or 90 minute Countryside Score format, but with a 7pm Mass Start and using the MapRun6 Iphone / Android / Garmin App for timing, punching and results.

As such you won’t need to bring a dibber or a pencil to record your visit to the controls.

MapRun6 App Essentials

To participate in this event you will need to bring your smartphone or Garmin with the MapRun6 App installed.  The App is free and if you haven’t already got it, then it takes less than 5 minutes to download and input your name details.  Do this at home before you come to the event.

The App will be used to record your time, prove which controls you have visited, calculate your score, and display the results.

It is easy to use - your device will bleep at the start, each control and at the finish. On the evening of the event there will be assistance available if you are new to it!  There will be a mini demo available for a pre-start bleep test.  Arrive early if you think you might need help.

Also if your phone doesn’t bleep at any control and you are in the right place, don’t worry because we can check your GPS track and correct your result after the event before the results are finalised.

Scan the appropriate QR code to download the corresponding MapRun event to your phone or watch:

Alternatively they can be found within the MapRun6 phone app "Select Event" structure at UK / Manchester / CSS / Poachers (Demo or 60 or 90).

If anyone needs any assistance with MapRun6 please contact Andy in advance (on 07751932749) or when you register at the pub.

Here are Andy's top MapRun tips:-

  • Download the app to your phone at home before you come to the event!  (If you are using a Garmin it is assumed you know what you are doing!)

  • Also make sure you can access the courses using the Select Event option or the QR codes

  • Make sure you come to the event with a fully charged phone or garmin (as well as a watch).

  • On the evening do the demo course to check your device is beeping in all the right places
  • After you have started don't go too close to the finish until you are actually ready to finish!
  • In the unlikely event that your device doesn't bleep at any control (and you are in the right place!) then just continue your run.  We can look at your GPS track and will credit you with the points.
