Event Report

Many thanks to everyone that attended the final countryside score event for 2017. Despite the rain not holding off for us I received plenty of positive feedback and hope those that I didn’t have the chance to speak to enjoyed it. I have really enjoyed planning this event, finding new footpaths and some interesting controls (I hope!).

Nearly all the controls were visited, including 49 and 50 by Richard Hunt (thankyou for making it worthwhile my Mum and sister writing out the questions on all the question sheets!!!), and it seems there was a wide variety of route choices. If you used a gps watch, put the route on routegadget and compare with other people.

Once again thankyou all for coming, enjoy the rest of the summer and don’t forget to try out our Night Street League when winter arrives – don’t forget your headtorches!!

Pre Event Info

Travel Note: The A6 is generally a nightmare at 'going home time' and there are additional road works because of SEMMs and traffic calming in Disley so please bear this in mind when travelling to the event. Buxton Old Road may be an option to Whaley (turn right at The Ram's Head).

Venue: The Hanging Gate (http://www.hanginggate-chapel.co.uk/)

The Hanging Gate, Manchester Road, Chapel-en-le-Frith, SK23 9UH.

The Hanging Gate is situated in the lush heart of the High Peak in Chapel-en-le-Frith. Surrounded by gorgeous green hills, in a dramatic landscape as far as the eye can see. It is our endeavour to serve hearty, home cooked food, sourced locally where achievable, alongside a good selection of ales & wines selected from around the world.
