Manchester and District Orienteering Club Teggs Nose Evening Event |
As usual, my main comment is to thank all who helped make this event a success. That includes all the helpers, the very cooperative Countryside Rangers, the planner, the controller, and Dave and Simon Mawdsley for supplying the ice-cream - a nice touch for which I can take no credit.
I hope you all enjoyed the event and will come to others.

Hello
This attempt to plan Teggs Nose was an interesting challenge.
You’ve got to play with the climbing constraints, and make the best of the
opportunities present in this post stamp.
Feedback from finishers was rich. I could notice some had found route choices
I had not thought of!
It is interesting to see the range of orienteering styles which go from the
red-line-following boar to the faster-on-the-track woody wood pecker.
The ratio between heather height and the femur length seems instrumental.
I have been briefed not to thank Dave Mawdsley for his extensive help and support. So, I will not say thank you to the controller for his patient, tactful, kind and decisive assistance.
