British Schools Championships 2014
Some excellent results for MDOC juniors
MDOC juniors achieved some excellent results at the weekend. Saturday was a World Schools Qualification Race at Adel Park, Leeds and Sunday was the British Schools Orienteering Championships at Temple Newsam, Leeds.
On Saturday, Matthew Fellbaum won the M16 class in the World Schools Qualification Race and Laura Hindle was 5th in W16. Full results at http://www.cix.co.uk/~neper/bsqe14/index.htm.
On Sunday, Matthew had another great result, winning year 12 in the British Schools Orienteering Championships by over 6 minutes. Laura Hindle was 4th in year 11, Carolyn Hindle 5th in year 13, Nathanael Horton 8th in year 9 and Ben Dempsey 11th in year 8. Full results at http://www.cix.co.uk/~neper/bsoc14/index.htm.
Four local schools were represented in the Championships this year - Fallibroome Academy, Cheadle Hulme School, Poynton High School and Manchester Grammar. Fallibroome took 1st place in the year 12 boys team competition with a team comprising Matthew, Edward Harvey and Edward de Sousa, and came 6th overall in the Large Secondary category.
