M60 O-Ringen relay
On Sunday 20th July, 21 runners from MDOC, SELOC and DEE successfully completed the M60 O-Ringen Relay, circumnavigating Manchester in 12 legs, each a linear score event using MapRun.
The total distance run was just under 110 km in a total time of 13 hours.
Each leg started on the hour,
- Ben Kyd started everything off at 7am from Jackson's Boat pub by Sale Water Park.
- Cecilia Fenerty set off from Urmston Beach at 8 am after seeing Ben finish.
- David Wathey left the former AJ Bell Stadium at 9am, narrowly missing a handover to Wangki Yuen.
- At 10am Wangki Yuen depated Worsley on route to Philips Park.
- Liz Hamer-Davies set off from Philips Park towards Heaton Park.
- 12pm saw Trevor & Marie Roberts (shared leg) just outside Heaton Park heading for Boggart Hole Clough.
- At 1pm Chris, Hanno and Alvari Rostron started at Boggart Hole Clough, to where
- John Britton was waiting to start his leg at 2pm from Daisy Nook,
- At 3pm Gilbert Lee (DEE) and Fly Leung ran together from Shepley Wood to hand over at
- 4pm to Andrea Gregory and Ian Turner (both SELOC) at Haughton Dale who in turn,
- at 5pm passed the imaginary baton to Paul Turner (SELOC) at Heaton Norris Fields.
- Finally, at 6pm, Clare Griffin, Iain Bell (DEE) and David Gray set off from Millgate Fields, Didsbury together, just as Paul was finishing. The final runners were cheered in at Jackson's Boat shortly before 7pm.
