A day spent planting posts for the new POC at Lyme
A few of us spent Thursday "planting" the 40 new posts for the new Permanent Orienteering Course at Lyme, greatly helped by the Lyme Rangers and Volunteers, in preparation for the Opening Event on Saturday 24th October.
Medals for 5 MDOC members at NW Sprint Champs
This year's North-West Sprint Orienteering Championships took place on Sunday 11th October as part of DEE's Chester Sprint Orienteering Weekend. It was a 2 part sprint with the times for each part added together for the final result.

The original Lyme POC was opened in 1976. Was it the first, or just one of the first in the country? After nearly 40 years we decided to start from scratch and create a new POC, using a totally re-surveyed map of the Park.
The National Trust are extremely supportive of the project. Their volunteers are going to help “plant” the posts.
First Aid Course - Saturday 26th September
Eight MDOC members attended a 1 day basic emergency first aid course given by Stuart McNeil at the Lee Wood Hotel in Buxton on Saturday 26th September.
Members paired up to practise the skills learnt by acting out various scenarios, a number of which were conducted outdoors – see photos.
MetrO - Sale Water Park
