MDOC juniors two seconds behind winners in Peter Palmers
The MDOC juniors came SECOND yesterday at the Peter Palmer Junior Relay trophy in Sherwood Forest, beating off favourites SYO, LOC, AIRE, LEI and all the usual suspects, and beaten by TWO SECONDS in a sprint finish by OD - Alistair Thornton nearly outsprinting Nathan Lawson at the end.

2 Gold, 2 Silver and 5 Bronze for MDOC
Three MDOC members gained podium places at last Saturday's British Sprint Champs at Keele University - a silver medal for Vicky Thornton (W50) and bronze medals for Matthew Fellbaum (M16) and Sue Birkinshaw (W75).

Vicky and John selected for VHI 2014
Congratulations to Vicky Thornton (W50) and John Britton (M60) who have been selected to represent England at this year's Veteran Home International (VHI) to be held in the Forest of Dean over the weekend of 13-14 September 2014.
New Wainwright Record for Steve Birkinshaw
Steve Birkinshaw, orienteer, multiple mountain marathon, adventure race winner and son of our own Sue Birkinshaw started out from Keswick on 14th June 2014 attempting to complete a circuit on foot of all 214 "Wainwright" tops. Many hours have been spent picking the best route on maps and refining the lines on the ground. The route is around 511km with 36000m of ascent - an amazing undertaking.
