MDOC leading TORUS Club competition
There were some great results for MDOC in stage 3 of the 2nd TORUS Cup (online TempO). See /http://www.yq.cz/trail-o/TempO/TORUS/.
Yesterday’s [virtual] event took place in Slovakia.

- Ben and Dom were 6th and 8th on the A Course respectively;

New videos teach orienteering skills in local parks
MDOC / GMOA have launched 'Get Out & Go', a series of four new films targeted at novices and newcomers, thanks to a grant from Sport England.
You can see the videos on the club's new YouTube channel.
Filmed in urban parks during Summer 2020, the short videos show beginners all the basics of orienteering, from the special way maps and courses are drawn, though a range of useful skills and techniques, to simple route choice, planning ahead and reading the map on the run ...
An inspiring junior interview
Please take a moment to read the latest junior interview - from Ollie. This young man is already successful in two sports. What is even more impressive is his recent solo effort to travel from Macclesfield to Edinburgh in one day by bike, in order to raise funds for research into Multiple Sclerosis. This disease took his grandfather at a young age before Ollie was born. His solo ride without any support is inspiring.

Final league results
As the last event of the season (SELOC’s at Tandle Hill) was cancelled due to bad weather, the positions after 5 events are the final results ...
- Final Results after the fifth event at Philips Park (as an Excel spreadsheet)
Steve Wilson was the leading male (112 points) and Karen Parker the leading female (97 points).
Mark Seddon had 106 points and John Embrey 100 points.
Chris has received their prizes from BrightBikeLights (Trevor Jackson) who will be sponsoring the League again in 2020/21.
MapRun Summer Series extended until Sunday 4th October
