Club award winners 2024
In addition to the Champions League winners, and annual Chair’s Award (the Pete Conway Trophy), six new awards were created this year to highlight achievements in a variety of club activities in the past year. The winners were announced at the MDOC Social on 18th January 2025.
NW Urban League winners
Three MDOC members were winners in the 2024 NWOA Urban Orienteering League:
First in the Women’s Open class was Ruth Beresford (W35)
First junior boy in the MYJ category was William Nield (M10)
First junior girl in the WYJ category was Aini Rostron (W12).
Other notable successes were achieved by Blake Edwards (M14) - 2nd in MJ – and Sophie Gray (W14) – 2nd in WJ.
Congratulations to all.
The NWOA Urban League 2024 comprised 8 urban events in the region, including both days of MDOC’s Manchester in May weekend.

Schools Championship success for Fallibroome
As a team, Fallibroome Academy achieved 3rd place at the British Schools Orienteering Championships 2024, held at Shorne Woods Country Park in Kent on 17th November.

New Club Kit - NOW AVAILABLE
The new MDOC Club kit is now available to order online via our new kit supplier ICON.
ICON are an independent Sportswear supplier based in Rochdale and will be the official teamwear provider for Manchester & District Orienteering Club from 2025*.
In addition to the shirts, vest and jacket, there is a range MDOC track pants, shorts, hats, hoodies and affordable tops for young juniors.

New Membership Fees for 2025
To become a member of Manchester & District Orienteering Club (MDOC) you must also be a member of British Orienteering- the national governing body for the sport.
New members (i.e. those who have not been a member of British Orienteering for the last 3 years) receive complimentary club membership for the first year.
Fees for NEW members
Juniors up to age 20: £5
Young adults aged 21-25: £10
Seniors 26+: £16
Family (maximum 2 adults + 1 or more juniors): £37
Membership benefits include £1 discount at all MDOC events, free coaching and discounts at various retailers.
